Chapter Sixty-Six: The Plague of Vine

Editor’s Note: I am going back. I am going back to the site where I know Vine stood. I don’t know what I will see, but I am going back. I don’t know if the light from Heaven will lift me in ascension or if the mouth of Hell will swallow me in darkness, but I am going back.

The time that God’s chosen people in the Americas had lived in Vine was two hundred twelve years. At the end of two hundred twelve years, on that very day, all the corporations and governments of the world went into the land of Vine. This was for corporations and governments of the world a day of promise, to bring new resources out of the land of Vine and into the global economy. The same day is a vigil to be kept for the Lord by all the people of Vine throughout their generations.

The preacher spoke saying: “When the Lord has brought you into the land of Vine, as he swore to you and your ancestors, and has given it to you, you shall set apart to the Lord all that is holy.”

The time that God’s chosen people in the Americas had lived in Vine was two hundred twelve years. At the end of two hundred twelve years, on that very day, all the corporations and governments of the world went into the land of Vine. This was for corporations and governments of the world a day of surprise, as all traces of Vine and its people had vanished, as though its people had never been there, as though the Church of Vine had never played host to a chorus of hymns from an ardent congregation, as though the miracles performed by the people of Vine for generations had been as seeds of a cottonwood tree, as though the cicadas were set to sleep another seventeen years, as though no human lips had ever tasted honeysuckle nectar, as though the herons had always nested near the river. The same day is a vigil to be kept for the Lord by all the people of Vine throughout their generations.

The people of Vine bowed their heads and spoke saying: “O Lord you are our God and you have given Vine unto us. O Lord forgive your people. O Lord shine blessings down upon your people. O Lord we set ourselves aside for You, O God, our sacrifices made in your holy name. For Vine is the place of the Lord. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.”

The time that God’s chosen people in the Americas had lived in Vine was two hundred twelve years. At the end of two hundred twelve years, on that very day, Vine was gone from the Earth, Vine walked with God and was no more. The same day is a vigil to be kept for the Lord by all the people of Vine throughout their generations.
